Mathematics is usually something to just pass and get on with for most people, I am not most people. I see mathematics as an art form to be perfected and used to create beautiful pieces of art. One of these being LaTeχ proofs, or beautifully crafted integrals that yield neat results, or mathematical coding.
I call myself a mathematical programmer, what is a mathematical progammer?
A mathematical programmer is a person that uses programming to solve mathematical problems, i.e. Mathematica.
What I do is sometimes the other way around but I enjoy the use of my programming skills and my passion for mathematics together.
As with my websites my Raspberry Pi is the workhorse of my mathematical escapades, when a plain fountain pen and paper wont do. I have a couple of projects I am working on at the moment, one a short term project, the other a longer term project, both engrained into mathematics.
I offer up my services for commisions of mathematical occurances or objects. If theres something you need an animation for, I can code it and you can use it, for a small fee. If you need something, please get in touch at: jamesarthur7@icloud.com
| Project Name | Project Area | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Online Accompanyment to Priestley's Complex Analysis | Complex Analysis |
| 2 | Statistical Analysis of Air Pollution Data | Statistical Methods |
Every year I attempt to go on an excursion of some kind to bring forward my mathematical skill in some way, I will usually go for a week or two to improve and reflect on my mathematical improvement over the past year. Some of my Mathematical excursions have included: A Lecture series at Oxford University on the Millenium Problems, The 60th International Mathematical Olympiad and the Annual Maths Jam Gathering.
I will attempt to write a blog post about any of these excursions I go on, they can be found here!
Sometimes if I find an exceptionally neat result or something takes my interest and I think its worth showing I will write up a paper on a topic. Here are my current papers:
| Paper Name | Paper Area | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Amicable Numbers - A Jaunt into Problem Papers | Number Theory |
| 2 | A Proof of L'Hôptial's Rule | Analysis |
| 3 | A Research Study into Time Reversibility | Fluid Dynamics |
| 4 | The Impact of Computational Intelligence through the eyes of Alan Turing | Computational Mathematics |
I also offer Mathematics tutoring for GCSE/A-level (including Further Maths and GCSE Science/GCSE Latin/AS Physics/A-level Chemistry), I am an ethusiastic A* student, every student will recieve a tailored session on any topic they desire over an online classroom. They will also get a problem set to take away and try and I would be more than happy to go through the solutions. I also take on Olympiad students. For me information, contact me on my business site.
